Katy, Texas — June 26, 2025 — The Arc of Katy is excited to announce the appointment of Sandy August as its new Executive Director, effective July 14, 2025. A passionate and proven leader in the nonprofit sector, Mrs. August brings nearly 20 years of experience in fundraising, community engagement, and strategic growth—all anchored in a heart for service and inclusion.
Mrs. August most recently served as Director of Major Gifts at St. Francis Episcopal School in Houston, where she led transformative philanthropic efforts and cultivated strong donor relationships. Her extensive background includes 18 years of building strategic partnerships and advancing missions that make a lasting impact in the lives of others.
“Sandy emerged as the clear choice amongst a highly qualified pool to lead The Arc of Katy into its next chapter,” said Cherie Duddridge, President of the Board of Directors. “Her strategic mindset, relational leadership style, and unwavering dedication to building communities where everyone can participate fully and live with purpose make her uniquely qualified to guide our mission forward.”
As Executive Director, Mrs. August will lead The Arc of Katy’s operations, fundraising, strategic planning, and community outreach. She will work closely with staff, board members, and local stakeholders to expand the organization’s programs and strengthen its role as a vital resource for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in the Katy area.
